Verizon Wireless has entered into an exclusive two year sponsorship as the official wireless provider for the McNeese State athletic department.

Verizon is providing voice and data products for members of the McNeese coaching staff.

The wireless company will also be the sole sponsor for all sporting events pitting McNeese against Lamar University.

These events have been grouped under the title of "Battle of the Border." Winning teams in each event will earn points toward the Verizon Wireless Battle of the Border Cup that will be presented to the university with the most points at the end of the school year.
