POSITION VACANCY

 

POSITION TITLE:                           Assistant Coach - Women's Lacrosse

 

DEPARTMENT:                                Intercollegiate Athletics

UNIVERSITY: The University of Maryland is among the most comprehensive and successful athletic programs in the United States with 27 sports and an annual expense budget of approximately $55 million. The University is a member of the prestigious Association of American Universities and is located on a beautiful campus located eight miles north of the nation's capital and 30 miles south of Baltimore. The Athletic Program has won 16 national championships over the last 13 years and is a charter member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Currently, 92 of the University's academic programs are in their respective Top 25 nationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:    Assist the head coach with the organization, development and implementation of a nationally competitive, Division I women's lacrosse program that competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  Responsibilities include recruiting, scouting, coaching, fund-raising and other duties as assigned by the head coach.  Develop and maintain effective interaction with students, colleagues, university staff, alumni and the general public.  Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with all NCAA, ACC and University rules and regulations as well as dedication to full academic development of student-athletes are essential.  Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:     Bachelor's degree required.  Must have a minimum of 2-3 years collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level. Previous college playing experience required. Must be computer literate.  Strong organization and communication skills.

 

SALARY:             Commensurate with experience.
