CHARLESTON, S.C. - The University of Memphis men's golf team captured the Charleston Southern Spring Invitational title by shooting 874 as a team to edge Kennesaw State by one stroke. The Tigers had a one stroke advantage entering the final round and equaled Kennesaw State's final round total of 304 to bring home the victory.

Senior Ian Rochester ran away with the individual competition shooting a 9-under par 204 to win medalist honors. Kennesaw State's J.P. Putnam was the runner-up, finishing 12 strokes back of Rochester. Rochester's last medal came at the Billy Hitchcock Invitational in 2005.

Memphis sophomore Brandon Bunn tied for 7th shooting a 219. Sophomore Mark Trow fired a 225 to tie for 18th. Brad Benjamin carded a 234 and tied for 35th.

Memphis will be back in action March 14-16 when travel to Greensboro, Ga. to compete in the Linger Longer Invitational.
