MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The University of Memphis men's and women's track and field teams will compete this weekend in Carbondale, Ill. at the McDonald's Invite. Competition will start on Friday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m., with the second day of events starting at 10 a.m. the following day.

The women's team is coming off high performances. In the first regular season ranking of the indoor season, the Lady Tigers debuted at No. 12 in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) rankings. They did not compete last weekend and due to a strong showing of performances nation wide, they have fallen just shy of the Top 25 landing in the No. 26 spot in this week's rankings.

The men's team is coming off supreme performances from a core group of throwers who have managed to land a handful of personal bests thus far this season, to be a squad to beat come conference time. The newcomers are also showing what they are made of in the sprints and jumping events.
