BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The University of Memphis women's golf team is in third place after one round of the Fighting Camel Classic in its first tournament of the spring. Host school Campbell has a commanding lead after 18 holes.

Sophomore Leslie Grabeman led the Memphis with a tie for fourth place finish in her debut tournament. Grabeman shot a 76. Junior Rachel Larson tied for 12th a 78. Senior Dawn-Marie Conaty fired an 80 and Alexa Porter posted an 82. The Lady Tigers shot 316 as a team.

Memphis enters the final round play just one stroke behind second place Elon. Campbell has a 14 stroke lead heading after day one. Maite Ortiz de Pinedo of Campbell and Samantha Widmer of Elon share the lead after one round, each posting a 74.

The Lady Tigers will conclude play at the Fighting Campbell Classic on Tuesday.
