• Sophomore Leigh Rowan made her fourth start of the season in right field and freshman Maddie McKinley is made her third start of the year and second at third base. Rowan has started 17 games as the designated player and McKinley has made one.

Leandra Hines stole her team leading ninth base in the top of the first inning after singling to shortstop. Hines has hit safely in both games against UAB.

Leigh Rowan knocked in the first run of the game in the top of the first with a single to centerfield to score Leandra Hines from second. The RBI is Rowan's 11th of the season and the run is Hines' 14th. With the hit Rowan matches her season high by extending her hitting streak to four games.

• Memphis is now 13-3 this season when scoring the first run in the game.

Lindsay Kelso hit her eighth double of the season in the top of the third inning down the left field line. The Tigers stranded runners on second and third in the inning.

Lyndsey Sterling is made her first pitching appearance since March 2 against Oklahoma.

• Memphis has now given up eight runs or more nine times this season and are 0-9 in those games. The eight run third inning is the fourth time this season the Tigers have given up seven or more runs in an inning.

Leila Dolfo walked in the fifth inning. It is the ninth straight game she has drawn at least one walk and the 13th time in the last 14 games. She leads the team with 22.

• This is the sixth time Memphis has been run ruled this season.

 

 

• Memphis is now 4-4 all-time against UAB and 1-4 when playing in Birmingham. The Tigers have lost two-straight to the Blazers.
