• Leandra Hines extended her hitting streak to three game with a single in the first inning up the middle. She then stole her 12th base of the season.
• Kailey Kassner hit her third double of the season to lead off the second inning.
• Hines stole her second base of the game and third of the day in the third inning to bring her season total to 13. It is the first time Memphis has stolen two bases in a game since Hines did it against Providence on March 14.
• Kailey Kassner hit her fourth home run of the season with a solo bomb over the center field fence in the fourth inning. Kassner had actually laid down a sacrifice bunt on the first pitch after Kimmi Hayden
had singled to lead off the inning. But Hayden was called out for leaving early and the play was ruled dead allowing Kassner to hit the home run.
• With a double and a home run in her first two at bats, Kailey Kassner has her fourth multi-hit game of the season. It is her first multi-hit game since going 2-for-3 against Central Arkansas on March 5. Kassner now has 11 RBI and nine runs scored on the season.
• Rayna McClinton had a perfect game going through three and a third innings. The freshman retired the first 10 batters in order before Bridget Metzger singled to left field with one out in the fourth.
• Memphis is now 13-4 this season when scoring the first run.
• Memphis had the leadoff hitter reach base on a hit in the first four innings.
• With two singles Kimmi Hayden had her team-leading ninth multi-hit game of the season.
• Sara Schneider scored her sixth run of the season in the sixth inning as a pinch runner. Schneider reached third on a hit by Tori Gross to center field and scored when the center fielder bobbled the play.
• The Tennessee State victory evens up the series between the two schools at three. The first five games between TSU and the U of M were shutouts.
• Memphis is now 15-4 this season when out hitting its opponent.
• Memphis is now 2-12 this season when trailing after five innings.
