FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Charlotte Abrahamsen and Susan King competed at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend held at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas, both garnering All-American accolades. Together the duo made it the third time in four years that the University of Memphis had competitors at the meet.

Abrahamsen placed eighth in the pentathlon at the championships. She had a toss of 15.09 meters in the pentathlon shot put to take first in the event. The mark set a new NCAA Indoor Championship shot put record for the pentathlon. Each throw that she had, broke the previous record. She tied her school record jump of 1.75 meters (5-08.75) in the high. With a point total of 4103, Abrahamsen broke her own school record for the second time this year and was the only freshman to place in the event. Abrahamsen ends her indoor freshman campaign with NCAA Championship accolades and two school records.

King ended her indoor collegiate career on a high note, with a fourth place finish in the shot put at the championships. After getting off to a rocky start, King on her fifth throw of the day was able to pull out a throw with a distance of 16.91 meters (55-05.75). King holds the school record in the indoor shot and is the 2008 Conference USA indoor shot put champion.

The championships were a first for both individuals as they came out on top for Memphis track and field.
