Team of the Week
Men's Basketball

The Mercyhurst men's basketball team went to Michigan and came away with a weekend sweep against GLIAC South opponents Hillsdale and Wayne State. The Lakers got a 59-58 win over Hillsdale Thursday when Brian McTear blocked a Hillsdale three-point attempt with five seconds left, was fouled, and made a free-throw with no time left on the clock. The Lakers then went to Detroit and defeated Wayne State 68-60 behind 20 points from McTear and 16 points and six steals from Terry Smith. With the victories, the Lakers have climbed into fourth place in the GLIAC South Division, positioning themselves for a run to the postseason.
