Male Athlete of the Week
Tim Hansson, Tennis

Freshman Tim Hansson improved to 5-1 in GLIAC play at No. 1 singles by winning a pair of matches against Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State. Hansson defeated Michigan Tech's Brett Girard 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 and beat Lake Superior State's Pawel Wegrzyn 6-3, 6-1. He paired up with teammate Mateusz Przybysz to sweep a pair of doubles matches this week. They beat Michigan Tech's No. 1 doubles team 8-6 and followed it up with a victory over Lake Superior State's No. 1 doubles team 8-3.

Female Athlete of the Week
Jessica McNurlen, Softball

Senior captain Jessica McNurlen hit .407 in eight games this week with two doubles and three triples. In a 6-0 conference win over Findlay, McNurlen went 3-for-4 with two triples, including one with the bases loaded that broke the game open. She drove in four runs in the contest. McNurlen is now batting .402, which ranks third in the GLIAC, and has driven in 26 runs, second in the conference.

Team of the Week
Men's Tennis

The Mercyhurst men's tennis team rolled to a pair of conference wins in Michigan's Upper Peninsula this weekend, beating Michigan Tech 9-0 and Lake Superior State 8-1. The wins put the Lakers at 3-3 in conference play on the season. Freshman Tim Hansson went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and paired with Mateusz Przybysz to go 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. Przybysz, Ronald Heurich and Kyle King were all unbeaten on the week, along with Hansson.
