Matt Warren is Named an ACHA 1st Team All-American

Erie, Pa - Mercyhurst's Matt Warren was recently named to the ACHA All-American team. Warren, a senior from Gatineau, Quebec, is the first player from Mercyhurst to be voted as a 1st team All-American. He joins Brent Klimow (2nd and 3rd team selection) and Micky Girardi (2nd and 3rd team selection) as former Mercyhurst players who have been named to the ACHA All-American squad. Warren, the team's leading scorer and most valuable player amassed 40 goals and 33 assists on the year totaling 73 points, placing him 3rd overall in ACHA Division 1 scoring. Warren also led the team in every category including PPG, SHG, and Pims. Warren was also selected to participate in the 1st Annual Men's Division 1 All-Star Game where he collected a goal and the games second star award. Before Mercyhurst, Matt played for the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Junior A Hockey League. While playing for Pembroke, Matt finished 2nd in CJHL league scoring with 38 goals and 41 assists for 79 points in 51 games played.
