Air Force to Conduct Swearing-In Ceremony during Mercyhurst/AF Game February 8

Erie, Pa. - There will be plenty of excitement both "on" and "off" the ice when the Air Force and Mercyhurst collide Friday, February 8, at 7:35 in the first of two weekend Atlantic Hockey games at the Ice Center.

Following Friday's second period, the Air Force will swear in 27 area men and women in its delayed enlistment program. Major Johnson from the Seneca Jr. ROTC program will give the Oath of Enlistment. Those expected to be sworn in include:

1. Carynne Duryea, 18, a graduate of Seneca High School (HS)
2. Justin Sadowski, 23, a graduate of Union City HS
3. Nick Torres, 20, a graduate from Perseus House of Excellence
4. Rason McAdory, 21, a graduate of East HS
5. Brandon Shoop, 18, a graduate of Harbor Creek HS
6. Christopher Palmer, 23, a graduate of McDowell HS
7. Jason Carniewski, 18, a graduate of North East HS
8. Scott Albert, 20, a graduate of McDowell HS
9. Daniel Normandeau, 19, a graduate of Central Tech HS
10. Michael Meade, 23, a graduate of General McLane HS and Edinboro University
11. Steve Smith, 18, a graduate of General McLane HS
12. Daniel Chaffee, 19, a graduate of from Girard HS
13. Greg Staton, ,21 a graduate of Bristol HS (NJ) and soon to graduate from Edinboro University
14. Jesse Zasada, 18, a graduate of Fairview
15. and Brenton Proper, 19, a graduate of McDowell HS

The list of seniors, soon to be graduates, includes:

1. Jon-Cristopher Boam, 18, from Collegiate Academy
2. Grant Kirik, 18, from Fort LeBoeuf HS
3. Stefanie Frank, 17, from Fort LeBoeuf HS
4. Kaila Bertges, 18, from Girard Alliance Christian Academy
5. James Wilkinson, 18, from General McLane HS
6. Rhai Yochim, 18, from McDowell HS
7. Sean Kaschalk, 17, from McDowell HS
8. Steven Reichard, 18, from Fairview HS
9. Kasia Heberle, 17, from McDowell HS
10. Richard Hess, 18, from Fairview HS
11. Rachel Letkiewicz, 17, from McDowell HS
12. and Steven Fried, 18, from General McLane HS

A large crowd is expected that night. The contest is part of Friday and Saturday hockey doubleheaders. The women battle College Hockey America- rival Wayne State Friday at 4:30 and Saturday at 3. Mercyhurst and the Air Force conclude the two-game set later that day at 7:05. Tickets are available by calling 824-2277. Adult tickets cost $4.00 while students are priced at $2.00.
