Mercyhurst freshman defenseman Jeff Terminesi was named Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Rookie of the Week today. Meanwhile, teammates Matt Lundin, Matt Pierce, and Chris Risi were named to the conference Honor Roll. All played pivotal roles in the Lakers' advancing to the tournament championship Sunday in which they bowed 5-4 in double overtime to Air Force in a game played at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY.

Terminesi was the only freshman named to the All-Tournament Team He totaled a pair of assists and was +1 in the Tournament while anchoring a defense that helped Mercyhurst reach the title game.

Lundin saved 116 of 124 shots (.935) while playing three games and 10+ periods in a 48-hour span. He stopped 38 of 39 in 4-1 win over Sacred Heart Friday, 36 of 38 in 4-2 victory over Army Saturday, and 42 of 47 in the 5-4 championship game double overtime loss to Air Force.

Pierce, an All-Tournament Team selection, had a four-point weekend in Rochester and finished the season with an 11-game scoring streak. He scored the first goal of the game on a power play against Sacred Heart, equaled the feat against Army, and then had a goal (pp) and a helper against Air Force. His 15th goal of the season drew the Lakers to within 2-1 in the second and his assist helped Mercyhurst regain the lead at 4-3 in the third.

Risi had a point in each game in Rochester and finished the season with at least one point in six of his last seven games. He scored his 6th goal of the season to finish the scoring against Sacred Heart, had the game-winning shorthanded goal early in the third against Army, and assisted on an early third period goal Sunday against Air Force that gave the Lakers their first lead at 3-2. He was also chosen for the All-Tournament Team.

Mercyhurst finished the season at 15-19-7. The team loses only seniors Ben Cottreau, Kerry Bowman, and Jamie Coghlan.
