Princeton Tigers Tame Lakers
Feb. 21, 2008 Princeton, N.J. - The Mercyhurst men's volleyball team opened a stretch of three matches in three days by losing to Princeton Thursday 30-16, 30-26, 30-20. The Lakers hit just .011 for the match and were unable to stop the Tigers. Princeton had 13.0 blocks for the match, including seven of the solo variety. Mercyhurst had seven blocks, five from Dave Newman, but the Laker offense never found a rhythm. Tim Wagner led Mercyhurst with 13 kills but the team never hit higher than .061 in any of the three games. Wagner added five digs and four blocks. Princeton improved to 5-5 on the season and remained unbeaten in three home contests on the year. The Lakers fall to 2-11 and will play at Rutgers Newark Friday at 7 p.m. before playing at Sacred Heart Saturday at 10 a.m. The Lakers will then be off until hosting Ohio State March 6 at 7 p.m. |
