15th-Ranked Lakers Bounce Back With Win Over No. 19 Limestone

Erie, Pa. - The 15th-ranked Laker wrestlers bounced back from Friday's loss at Findlay with a 18-15 dual win over No. 19 Limestone at the Hammermill Center Saturday afternoon. Mercyhurst (10-13) handed Limestone just its third loss in 19 duals this season. It was also the Lakers third win over a ranked opponent. Third-ranked 149-pounder Brian Pogel notched his team-leading ninth fall of the year and improved to 28-7 by pinning Dustin Baynes in 1:51. He is now just four wins shy of J.J. Zanetta's (2006-07) single season record of 32. Hudson Harrison, ranked sixth at 165, won his 11th-straight match by an 11-4 score over Casey Bradley. Junior 125-pound Payne Lint defeated Ian Barker, Braxdon Scaletta notched a 5-0 win at 141 and junior Trevor Gallo rolled to a 7-1 decision at 197. At 157, eighth-ranked Andy Lamancusa nearly pulled off the Laker's sixth win by taking a 6-5 lead on a takedown with 30 seconds remaining in the third period. Mike Bush, however, managed a reversal with under 10 ticks left to escape with the upset win. Mercyhurst travels to No. 8 Pitt-Johnstown for a clash of East Region foes on Friday, Feb. 22. Start time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
