Prischak and Whipkey Earn GLIAC Women's Basketball All-Academic Honors

April 23, 2008

Bay City, Mich. - The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) released its Women's Basketball All-Academic Team Wednesday, and Mercyhurst junior Stephanie Prischak and sophomore Lindsey Whipkey were both named to the team.

To be named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must achieve a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and be an academic sophomore and starter or key reserve.

Prischak, the Lakers' lone junior, was honored for the second-straight season. A biology major from Erie, Pa., Prischak scored 13.3 points per game, while shooting an impressive 43 percent from 3-point range.

Whipkey, a business major from Washington, Pa., missed 14 games at the end of the season but still appeared in 13 games and started three. She averaged 4.2 points and grabbed 2.9 rebounds per game.
