Fourteen Lakers Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad :: Mercyhurst has had 27 student-athletes honored in the last two seasons

Erie, Pa. - Fourteen members of the Mercyhurst field hockey team earned were named to the 2007 ZAG/NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad, Monday. The Lakers ranked third among individual number of honorees.

Only Kutztown with 16 and Bloomsburg with 15 landed more student-athletes on the team. The National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 through the first semester of the 2007-08 academic year.

Among the honorees for Mercyhurst were Jennifer Coleman, Kristen Fogle, Brittany Jeffords, Erin Kelleher, Courtney Loper, Jennifer Macri, Jocelyn Montmarquet, Lauren Rinaca, Maria Sanita, Katherine Thompkins, Emily Warren, Kelsie Weber, Kathryn Wicus and Sara Wowkowych.

In the last two seasons, Mercyhurst has had 27 student-athletes named to the team.
