Caitlin Cummings Improves by Ten Shots to Lead Lakers at GLIAC Championships :: Mercyhurst finished in seventh place in the team competition.

After the third round of the GLIAC Championships, the Mercyhurst Lakers women's golf team finished in 7th place overall. Caitlin Cummings came from behind in the third round to finish the highest individually for the Lakers with scores of 89 in the third round and a 85 and 95 on day one. Mercyhurst will now prepare for their 2008 fall campaign.

For the Lakers, Cummings finished in 32nd place individually and was followed by teammates Kaitlin Brody (33rd), Arielle Chong (36), Alanna Kirwan (37), Mattye Laurer (38), and Lauren Montebell (40). Ferris State's Becky Hoffman held onto the No.1 spot in the individual competition with scores of 74, 75 and 77.

Grand Valley State dominated the team competition with a total score of 907(after three rounds) and won out by twenty strokes over Ferris State. Ashland University finished in third with a team score of 957.

The Mercyhurst Lakers will now look forward to their 2008 fall campaign.
