The Mercyhurst Lakers women's golf team won a head-to-head competition Sunday against the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats. The Lakers turned in a combined team score of 343, while the Mountain Cats shot a 517. Caitlin Cummings led the field with a 38 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine for a 10 above par.

Mercyhurst claimed the top five spots in the head-to-head competition by shoting an average of an 86 as a team. Following Cumminngs' 82 for the Lakers was Kaitlin Brody with an 85 and Alanna Kirwan shot an 87. Lauren Montebell tallied an 89 and Mattye Laurer finished with a 90.

The Mountain Cats were led by Lindsay Cole who shot a 115 on the day and Angie DePaolis finished with a 126. Rounding out the field for Pitts-Johnstown was Ashley Kalp (134), Allison Henderson (142), Courtney King (144), and Quiana Brown (182).

The Mercyhurst women's golf team has now concluded its 2008 spring season.
