Women Still Solid at No. 7 in USA Today Poll

Colorado Springs, Colo. - Mercyhurst remains in the seventh spot in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey women's poll released today. The Lakers, 24-7-3 overall and 9-2-1 in College Hockey America (CHA), closed the regular season last weekend with 5-2 and 5-4(OT) wins over conference-rival Robert Morris. Mercyhurst will travel to Niagara University Friday for the CHA playoffs. The Lakers will play the host team Friday night at 7. Wayne State and Robvert Morris get things started with the first semifinal game at 3. The winners play for the conference title Saturday night at 7.
ABOUT THE POLL: The 11th annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the most widely distributed hockey magazine in the world.
