Griepsma and Lakers Bounce Back with 15-5 Win Over Carthage
March 15, 2008 Ann Arbor, Mich. - After being held scoreless for the first time in her career Saturday morning against Michigan, Mercyhurst freshman Rachel Griepsma responded later in the day in a 15-5 win over Carthage with a career-high seven goals. Griepsma now has 30 goals through ten games, and the Lakers improve 7-3 on the season. The Lakers cap play at the University of Michigan Invitational with a 2-1 record. Griepsma also added one assist, two steals and two drawn ejections. She wasn't the only Laker that set a career-high, though. Chrissy Genian tallied seven assists and also added two steals. Senior Christine Somera tacked on four goals, two steals and two drawn ejections. Classmate Carrie Willison scored twice, marking her first goals since the season opener against Siena.
