Men and Women Finish Third At Rocky Mountain Invitational

GOLDEN, COLO. -- Kenny Rhoades set a school record as he won the three-meter diving competition to lead Metro State at the Rocky Mountain Invitational this past weekend at Colorado School of Mines.

The men finished third with 412 points behind Texas-Permian Basin (929.5) and Colorado School of Mines (920). The women were also third with 468 points, finishing behind Colorado School of Mines (670.5) and Mesa State (563).

For the men, Rhoades scored 574.27 points to win the three meter. Alejandro Hernandez won the 200-yard butterfly and was second in the 400-yard medley, while Evan Venrick was second in the 1000-yard free (10:08.61).

For the women, Lisa Black won both the 100 (1:00.93) and 200 (2:12.20) backstroke, while Meredith Quast-Lanphier won the 100-yard freestyle. Jessica Shaddock placed second in the 200-yard freestyle.

This was the last regular-season meet for the Roadrunners.
