March 13, 2008

Kenny Rhoades finished fourth in the one-meter diving competition with 453.70 points at the NCAA Championships, Thursday evening at the Univ. of Missouri Aquatic Center in Rolla, Mo.

Nate Jimerson of St. Cloud State won the one meter championship with a score of 520.75, beating defending NCAA champion Brandon Birchak, who scored 508.90. Rhoades' former Brighton High School teammate Andrew Coup of Drury College finished third.

Rhoades scored 392.85 to place sixth in the preliminary round held Thursday morning. This is his third all-American award, after earning the honor in both the one and three meter as a freshman.

Rhoades returns to the pool Saturday to compete in the three-meter competition.
