Jake Palmer Earns RMAC Player of the Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Metro State senior outfielder Jake Palmer has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference baseball Player of the Week, the conference office announced.

Palmer hit .625 (10-for-16) last week as Metro State swept Concordia (Neb.) in a four-game series. He had two home runs, 11 RBI and five runs scored in the series and struck out just once. Palmer went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a home run in game three and was also 4-for-4 with three RBI in the first game.

It is Metro State's first player of the week honor this season. Jack Amidei of Mesa State earned the league's pitcher of the week honor.

Metro State, 7-2 overall, hosts Colorado Christian in its RMAC opener, Feb. 29 at 11 a.m.
