No. 21 Metro State Defeats Regis, 21-14

The two best offensive teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) did not disappoint, as the 21st-ranked Metro State Roadrunners out-slugged Regis, 21-14 in a RMAC game Thursday afternoon at Regis Field. The teams combined for 43 hits, including 16 extra base hits.

Reece Gorman, Jake Palmer and Tyree Abshire were the offensive stars for the Roadrunners. The 3-4-5 hitters in the lineup combined for 11 hits and 10 RBI's. Palmer connected for two home runs and five RBI's, including starting the scoring with a solo shot in the top of the second inning. The `Runners scored eight runs in the fifth inning, led by Abshire's two-run double and Troy Spahn's two-run triple. Regis attempted a comeback in the seventh and eight innings, managing six runs, but the `Runners would continue to score, adding six run of their own in the final three innings.

Metro State improves to 21-4, 13-0 in the RMAC, while Regis fell to 12-8, 8-4 in the RMAC. The two teams return to action Friday at 11 a.m. at Regis Field.
