The No. 9 Metro State baseball team swept two games from the University of Nebraska-Kearney (UNK) this afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action in Kearney, Neb.

The 'Runners won the first game of the day by the score of 18-6. The teams traded runs until the the top of the sixth when the Roadrunners' bats exploded for nine runs on six hits. The inning was highlighted by a grand slam by Alex Krohn. Armando Casas (6-0) remained perfect for the season, allowing six hits in five innings of work.

Reece Gorman went 3-for-3 in the second game of the day to lead the 'Runners to a 7-3 victory. Joel Lockhart pitched a complete game allowing just eight hits and three runs.

The pair of victories improved the 'Runners to 29-6 overall and 21-2 in the RMAC. The two teams conclude the four-game series with a game tomorrow at Noon CST.
