Wagstaff, Burgess Lead Metro State Over Regis, 73-55

DENVER, COLO. -- Jesse Wagstaff and Terrell Burgess combined for 41 points to lead Metro State to a 73-55 victory over Regis, Friday evening at Regis Fieldhouse.

Wagstaff posted his fourth double-double of the season with 20 points, 11 rebounds and three assists, while Burgess scored 21 points and added three assists for Metro State. James Bulluck led Regis with 21 points.

The Roadrunners went 25-for-32 from the charity stripe, while Regis was just 9-for-22 from the line. Metro State also held a 40-27 advantage on the boards.

Metro State led 35-25 at the break and shot 48.9 percent from the floor for the game. The two teams combined for just 17 turnovers.

Metro State has now won 14 of the past 15 meetings against the Rangers, while it was head coach Brannon Hays' 100th career victory.

With the win, Metro State improves to 14-11 overall, 7-7 in the RMAC, while Regis drops to 13-9 overall, 8-6 in the RMAC. The Roadrunners are at UC-Colorado Springs, Saturday at 8 p.m.
