Big Second Half Leads Metro State To 109-80 Win Over UCCS

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Lawrence Billings recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Metro State to a 109-80 victory over UC-Colorado Springs in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men's basketball game, Saturday evening at the Lions' Den.

Metro State scored a season-high 109 points, while committing a season-low five turnovers and also forcing 16 UCCS miscues. Four players scored in double figures for the Roadrunners, while 10 of 11 players who saw action scored at least one point.

Guiseppe Ciancio posted 19 points, while Marquise Carrington had 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists for Metro State. Abram Ziemer led the Mountain Lions with 18 points.

Metro State scored 59 points in the second half as it shot 75 percent (18-for-24) from the field. Metro State also held a 29-15 advantage at the charity stripe.

Metro State is now 31-0 all-time against UC-Colorado Springs.

With the win, Metro State improves to 15-11 overall, 8-7 in the RMAC, while UCCS drops to 7-16 overall, 3-12 in league play. The Roadrunners host Nebraska-Kearney, Feb. 15.
