Roadrunner Women Are No. 3 Seed, Host Adams State In RMAC Tournament

Feb. 23, 2008

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Metro State (18-9, 14-5 RMAC) is the No. 3 seed and hosts No. 6-seed Adams State (13-14, 10-9 RMAC) in the first round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m., the conference announced Saturday evening.

Meanwhile, on the men's side, Metro State (19-11, 12-7 RMAC) is the No. 6 seed and heads to No. 3-seed Colorado Christian, Feb. 29 at 6 p.m.

On the men's side, Fort Lewis (21-5, 16-3 RMAC) is the No. 1 seed and hosts No. 8-seed Regis (14-13, 9-10 RMAC), while Nebraska-Kearney (15-12, 13-6 RMAC) is the No. 2 seed and hosts No. 7-seed Mesa State (13-13, 10-9 RMAC). No. 4-seed Western New Mexico (16-11, 12-7 RMAC) hosts No. 5-seed Adams State (18-9, 12-7 RMAC).

In the women's tourney, Fort Lewis (25-2, 18-1 RMAC) is the top seed and hosts No. 8-seed Colorado Christian (13-17, 9-10 RMAC), while No. 2-seed Nebraska-Kearney (24-5, 17-2 RMAC) hosts No. 7-seed Regis (14-13, 10-9 RMAC). Mesa State is the No. 4 seed (14-13, 12-7 RMAC) and hosts No. 5-seed CSU-Pueblo (18-9, 12-7 RMAC).

The Roadrunner women lost to Adams State in the two teams' only meeting, 82-65, in Alamosa, Dec. 16. The Roadrunner men split with Colorado Christian, defeating the Cougars, 80-77, at home Feb. 19, while losing in Lakewood, 91-76, Jan. 15.

All first-round games are Friday, Feb. 29. The semifinals and championship games of both the men's and women's tournament are at the Colorado State Fair Events Center in Pueblo, Colo., March 7-8.
