Sauter Named RMAC East Division Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Metro State senior guard Stephanie Sauter has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's basketball East Division Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Sauter averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds as Metro State went 2-0 last week. She scored a career-high 24 points and had eight three pointers in a 67-49 win over Regis, Jan. 26. Sauter had 21 of Metro State's 37 first-half points against Regis, including seven treys, to help the Roadrunners lead by 15 points at the break. She also had 13 points and four assists in the win over UC-Colorado Springs. On the week, Sauter was 11-for-25 shooting beyond the arc.

It is Metro State's third player of the week honor this season as Ashley Mickens was named Nov. 26 and Dec. 17. Sarah Staggs of CSU-Pueblo earned West Division honors.

Metro State, 13-6 overall, is at Chadron State, Jan. 31.
