Roadrunners Blank UC-Colorado Springs, 9-0

DENVER, COLO. -- Jessica Fisher threw a four hitter and Metro State blanked UC-Colorado Springs, 9-0, in a nonconference softball game, Sunday afternoon at Hidden Lakes Complex.

The Roadrunners went 2-2 in the four-game Mile High Invitational, evening their record with the shutout Sunday.

Metro State scored six runs in the first inning, then added two more in the third as it earned the run-rule victory. Cari Thompson had a home run and three RBI, while Danni Hedstrom also homered and had two hits.

Fisher struck out three and walked two in five innings to get her third win of the season.

With the win, Metro State is now 3-3 overall, while UC-Colorado Springs falls to 6-4 overall. The Roadrunners open RMAC play at Western New Mexico, March 1-2.
