Rusch Named RMAC Player of the Week

April 8, 2008

Sarah Rusch has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. She is the first Roadrunner softball player to ever earn the honor.

The sophomore second baseman hit the game-winning three-run home run in the first game of a four-game series with UCCS. She posted the lone extra base hit in the final game of the series (double) and helped the 'Runners to a 4-0 sweep of the Mountain Lions. In 13 at-bats, she tallied seven hits, drove in three runs, scored five times and hit two doubles and a home run. For the season, she leads the team with a .391 batting average, 45 hits and 12 doubles.

Metro State currently leads the RMAC-East Division with a 17-9 conference record. They travel to Durango to face Fort Lewis (17-18, 13-11 RMAC) this Saturday and Sunday.
