BUFFALO, N.Y. - Miami University's baseball team dropped the second game of a three-game series to Buffalo, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Amherst Audubon Field in Mid-American Conference action. Miami fell to 11-25 overall and 3-11 in MAC play, while Buffalo improved to 10-23 overall and 4-9 in MAC action.
The RedHawks' best scoring threat of the day occurred in the second inning as junior Tommy Nurre led off the frame with a double to right-center field. Junior Eric Darlage followed with a walk, putting runners on first and second base with no outs. A fielder's choice eliminated Nurre at third base, but kept runners on first and second base. A fly ball to center field advanced Darlage to third base, but a strike out ended the Miami scoring threat. For the remainder of the game, the RedHawks were unable to advance a runner past second base.
The Bulls scored a run in the third, fourth and eighth innings as Buffalo defeated Miami, 3-0.
Nurre led the RedHawks with two hits, including his second-inning double.
The RedHawks and Bulls finish their three-game series on Sunday, April 20, at 1 p.m.
