REDHAWKS RETURN TO MAC PLAY AT BUFFALO: Miami travels to Buffalo for a Mid-American Conference series with the Bulls. The series begins Friday at 3 p.m., while Saturday's and Sunday's game are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
HOT BAT: Junior Jordan Petraitis was Miami's top hitter for the week as he batted .476 and extended his hitting streak to seven games. Petraitis had 10 hits on the week and seven RBIs, including four hits and a career-high four RBIs in Miami's series finale against Central Michigan.
MAC-NIFICENT FRESHMAN: Freshman Samuel Dawes has been Miami's top reliever out of the pen in MAC play this season. Dawes has six appearances in MAC-only action and the freshman southpaw has given up only one earned run. Dawes' MAC-only ERA is 0.66 in 13 2/3 innings.
CLOSING IN ON THE BOOKS: Junior Jordan Petraitis is closing in on some Miami career Top 10 lists. Petraitis has 14 doubles this season, which is already three more doubles than his previous career high. Petraitis' 14 doubles is three doubles shy of ranking eighth on the single-season doubles list and his 36 career doubles is three doubles shy of ranking ninth on the career doubles chart.
POWER SURGE: Junior Chris Nadeau is having a career season for the RedHawks this season. Nadeau, who posted a career-high batting average of .308 last season, is batting .362 heading into the weekend. Before April 6, Nadeau had not registered a home run in two and a half seasons, but since April 6, Nadeau has belted three home runs. All of his home runs have been at McKie Field.
