OXFORD, Ohio - After their season-opener at the University of Kentucky Invitational, the Miami men's track and field team will travel to Bloomington, Ind. to compete in the Indiana University Hoosier Hills Invitational on Friday.

Led by junior Kevin Dwyer, the RedHawk men kicked off their season with a strong showing in Kentucky. Dwyer finished third in the high jump on Friday night with a height of 6-6 ¼, while freshman David Serrano finished a close fourth at 6-4 ¼.

Freshman Matt Losi earned 10th place in the triple jump with a leap of 43-0 ¼. Senior Dan Beach then took 12th in the weight throw at 52-9 ¼.

On Saturday, Dwyer and junior Alexander Boiwka led the RedHawks as they tied for 15th place in the pole vault, each clearing a height of 14-7 ¼. Freshman John Reese ended the meet with a bound of 22-7 in the long jump, earning him 11th place.

After their Friday meet, the men will head to Columbus, Ohio for the Capital University Last Call Meet on Jan. 22.
