OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University track and field student-athletes Michael Veatch and Dan Beach have been named the Mid-American Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Veatch, a senior from Middletown, Ohio, was named the conference's track athlete of the week after finishing the 3,000 meter steeplechase in an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 9:05.26 at the 10th annual Southern Ohio Cup in Oxford, Ohio. Veatch defeated runners from Cincinnati, Xavier, Ohio and Northern Illinois.

Senior thrower Dan Beach, from Arlington, Ohio, won the field athlete of the week honor after finishing second in the hammer throw at the Southern Ohio Cup with a toss of 182-05. He also took fourth in the discus with a throw of 151-08.

The Miami men finished second at the Southern Ohio Cup and will travel to the Cincinnati Invitational on Saturday, April 5.
