OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University senior forward Alyssa Nye celebrated the RedHawks' senior day the best way she knew how; by scoring a hat trick in a 4-2 win over Central Michigan on Saturday afternoon.

Nye scored twice in the second half to help Miami pull away after scoring the RedHawks' second goal of the day late in the first half. Four RedHawks recorded assists on the day, with senior Taylor Florence helping on the hosts first goal of the day, from Elizabeth Gilroy. Christine Brightwell assisted Nye's first score, while Meghan McMurtry helped on the senior's second score. Nye's final goal was assisted by Kate Snyder.

The Chippewas received goals from Samantha Sandham and Moyra Betuzzi, with Lizi Gericke adding an assist.

Kelsey Dean stopped three shots on goal, earning the win for Miami. The RedHawks had seven penalty corners to five for the visitors and outshot CMU 12-to-8 in the contest.
