OXFORD, Ohio - Four members of the Miami University field hockey team have been selected to the All-Mid-American Conference Team for their performances in the 2007 season.

Honored on the All-MAC first team was a pair of senior forwards, Alyssa Nye and Taylor Florence, while a pair of junior midfielders earned second-team recognition in Elizabeth Gilroy and Danielle Gaynor.

Nye (Bernville, Pa.) leads the RedHawks with 27 points on the year on 11 goals and five assists. She most recently scored two goals in the RedHawks' 3-1 win over Missouri State in the first round of the MAC Tournament. She netted a hat trick on Senior Day in a 4-2 win over Central Michigan.

Florence (Louisville, Ky.) is second on the team with 14 points on four goals and six assists, which is tied for the team lead. Florence has been a steady force for Miami all season and was selected to play in the NFCA Senior All-Star game which will take place on November 17 at the University of Maryland. Her top statistical performance of the year came in the RedHawks' 9-1 win over Missouri State on October 7 when she had two goals and an assist.

Gaynor (San Diego, Cal.) has totaled 12 points on the year with four goals and four assists. Her best performance came in game one when she had a goal and two assists in a 6-0 win over Longwood on August 25.

Gilroy (San Diego, Calif.) has scored two goals and is tied for the team lead with six assists. Gilroy had an incredible four assists in the 9-1 win over MSU and also added goals against Ohio on October 14 and Central Michigan on October 20.

The RedHawks ended the regular season with an 8-10 record and a 6-4 record in the MAC. They are now 9-10 on the season after winning their MAC Tournament first round game. Miami will face Kent State University on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the tournament semifinals at the Miami Turf Field.
