Akron, Ohio - The RedHawks head to Firestone Stadium, home of the Akron Racers, on Wednesday, for the 2008 Mid-American Conference Tournament. This marks the second-consecutive season that Miami has made an appearance in the postseason tournament.

Miami is making its sixth trip to the MAC Tournament, having also qualified in 1983, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007. The RedHawks are hoping to have similar success this season as they did during the 2005 campaign, when the team went 4-0 in the tournament, earning the school's first MAC Tournament championship.

The RedHawks are entering the tournament as the No. 4 seed for the second time in as many years, and the third time in program history. Miami owns a record of 3-4 all-time as the fourth-seed in the tournament.

The Red and White will open play at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, when the team takes on the No. 5 seed, Western Michigan. All-time, Miami holds a slight edge over fifth-seeded teams, with a record of 2-1.
