OXFORD, Ohio - The Miami University women's track and field team took second place in the 10th annual Southern Ohio Cup, hosted by the RedHawks at the George L. Rider Track in Oxford, Ohio.

Amanda Mirochna won the 1500 meters in 4:41.54. She also took first in the 800-meters with a time of 2:16.73 with Katie Lenahan coming in third, just behind in 2:16.97. Lauren Aeh was fifth, finishing in 2:18.70. Jennie Stoll was fourth in the 1500 at 4:45.15 and seventh in the 800 at 2:20.45.

Laura Neufarth won the 5000 meters by more than 20-seconds, ending in 17:02.75. Rebekah Hollander was third with a time of 17:34.16.

Kristina Bolterstein won the high jump, clearing 5-8 ¾ while Katelyn Kelly was second at 5-7. Kristen Mathews was fifth at 5-5. Brittany Bernardoni was second in the pole vault, clearing 11-1 ¾.

Margarita Pogorelov finished second in both the 100-meter dash at 12.39 and the 200-meter dash at 25.52. DeLana Turner was seventh in the 100-meters with a time of 13.03 and ninth in the 200 at 26.81.

Hope Alexander was third in the triple jump with a mark of 34-4 ¾. Magda Wikar was sixth with a bound of 33-7 ¼.

 

 

Erin Frazer took second in the javelin with a throw of 119-5.

Turner was third in the 100-meter hurdles at 14.75, while Alexis Lape and Alisha Jones were fourth and fifth with times of 15.21 and 15.23. Lape went on to win the 400-meter hurdles in 1:02.54 while Jones and Andrea Tepe were third and fourth with times of 1:04.49 and 1:05.37, respectively.

Ruth Rasch and Katelyn Kelly finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 400-meter dash with times of 1:00.37 and 1:01.05.

Jessica DeWitt was third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:44.97.

The 4X400 meter relay team of Lape, Jones, Tepe and Betsy Allen took second with a time of 3:52.92.

The RedHawks will next travel to Durham, N.C. to take part in the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5.
