Kelsey Blincow Named Dallas Morning News Player of the Year

Tiger signee also honored as top-75 recruit by Soccer Buzz

Columbia, Mo. - The Dallas Morning News named Hebron (Texas) High School senior forward/midfielder and Mizzou recruit Kelsey Blincow the 2008 Dallas Area Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Blincow, who scored 21 goals and dished out 17 assists, also earned the District 6-5A Most Valuable Player award while leading her team to the Region I-5A championship game.

Blincow scored 98 goals in her four-year Lady Hawk career, and she looks to add offensive power to an already strong Tiger attack, which ranked second in the Big 12 with 53 goals scored in 2007.

She is no stranger to the Dallas Morning News, as she was selected to their All-Area second team in 2007 after scoring 21 goals and dishing out 19 assists during her junior year.

Besides the honor from the newspaper, the incoming freshman also earned Soccer Buzz honors, as the magazine ranked her among the top-75 high school recruits.

Tasha Dittamore Featured on Big 12 Conference Site

University of Missouri women's soccer player Tasha Dittamore was selected as the big12sports.com Student-Athlete Spotlight this week. The junior goalkeeper has been a key piece to the No. 24 Tigers 6-3-0 start this season and her four shutouts lead the conference.

No. 24 Soccer Blanks Texas Tech, 2-0

Junior goalkeeper Tasha Dittamore posted her sixth shutout of the season as the No. 24 Missouri soccer team blanked Texas Tech 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Walton Stadium. With the shutout, Dittamore set a new single-season record, besting the old mark of five she held with three other former Tigers.

No. 24 Tigers Upset No. 15 Colorado, 1-0

The No. 24 University of Missouri soccer team used a goal in the second minute by junior Kristin Andrighetto to earn a 1-0 upset of No. 15 Colorado Friday night at Walton Stadium. With the win, Mizzou improves to 7-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in Big 12 Conference play while the Buffaloes fall to 8-2-2 and 2-1-1.

No. 24 Tigers Continue Big 12 Play

The No. 24 University of Missouri soccer team returns home to Walton Stadium with a pair of Big 12 Conference matchups. The Tigers (6-3, 1-1) face No. 21 Colorado (8-0-1, 2-0-1) on Friday at 6:30 p.m. before a 1 p.m. contest on Sunday against Texas Tech (6-3-1, 1-2).

No. 22 Soccer Falls in 3-2 Double-Overtime Contest

The University of Missouri women's soccer team lost 3-2 in double-overtime at Nebraska on Sunday in a hard fought conference match-up. The Tigers (6-3-0, 1-1-0 Big 12) twice took the lead from goals by freshman midfielder Mallory Stipetich and sophomore striker Alysha Bonnick but Nebraska (6-4-1, 2-0-0 Big 12) equalized both times before winning the game in the 107th minute.
