2008 Missouri Soccer Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Head Coach Bryan Blitz and the Missouri soccer team announced its 2008 schedule on Wednesday, which is highlighted by matchups with seven teams that qualified in last season's NCAA Tournament. The slate also features 10 home contests and four teams that finished in the NSCAA/adidas National Top 25 in 2007.

After exhibition contest at Creighton on Aug. 14 and at home against Illinois State on Aug. 17, Missouri opens the 2008 season with a two home games in August. The Tigers kick off the year on Saturday, Aug. 22 against Illinois, followed by a contest with Auburn on Friday, Aug. 29.

The Tigers head west for the second straight season with games against Cal-Davis and Cal-Berkeley on Sept. 5 and 7, respectively. Mizzou then returns home for a three-game homestand against Vanderbilt on Friday, Sept. 12, Butler on Sunday, Sept. 14 and Iowa on Friday, Sept. 19.

Missouri begins Big 12 Conference action on Friday, Sept. 26 with an away match in Ames, Iowa, against Iowa State before traveling to Lincoln, Neb. for a Sunday, Sept. 28 contest with Nebraska.

After home contests against Colorado on Friday, Oct. 3 and Texas Tech on Sunday, Oct. 5, the Tigers hit the road with games at Oklahoma on Friday, Oct. 10, Oklahoma State on Sunday, Oct. 12 and Texas A&M on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Mizzou closes out schedule with a three home games in late October, starting with matchups against Baylor and Texas on Friday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 26, respectively, before concluding the 2008 regular season against Border Showdown rival Kansas in Lawrence, Kan., on Oct. 31.

The Tigers finished the 2007 season with a 13-8-1 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament before losing to eventual national champion USC in double-overtime.
