Television Rotation Quotes - Coach Dantonio, Javon Ringer, Justin Kershaw, and Brian Hoyer

CHICAGO - Second-year Spartan football head coach Mark Dantonio and seniors Brian Hoyer, Justin Kershaw and Javon Ringer met with the media for two days (Thursday-Friday) in Chicago at the Hyatt Regency for the annual Big Ten Football Kickoff. With more than 400 members of the national and school-specific media on hand for the event, coaches and athletes met with the media about the expectations for the upcoming season.

On Thursday, Hoyer, Kershaw and Ringer met with the Big Ten Network television crew for one-on-one interviews to start the day. The players then stopped by to watch Coach Dantonio's press conference with the print media, as Dantonio had 15 minutes to talk about the team and the upcoming season before opening the floor to questions. The press conference was covered by ESPNews and the Big Ten Network.

Following Dantonio's formal press conference, he met with reporters outside the ballroom for about 15 minutes. Dantonio and the three players then proceeded on to an hour-long session for television stations, rotating through six rotations and taking questions from local reporters in other Big Ten media markets. The players completed their day by doing one-on-one interviews with local television stations, while Coach Dantonio met with the Big Ten Network.

"I think it's very exciting for us to see the exposure and the priority that the Big Ten Conference demands in the Midwest," Dantonio said on the Big Ten Kickoff. "The fact that all these people come here and talk about the Conference and the football programs allows us to be a premier conference in America."

Day two began with a two-hour media roundtable with print reporters. Following media interviews, Coach Dantonio and the players signed autographs for an hour before attending the sold-out kickoff luncheon, which featured more than 1,700 people. The afternoon concluded with an alumni reception.
