GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Michigan State women's tennis team picked up its fourth victory of the season, taking out UNC Greensboro, 5-2, at Piedmont Indoor Courts in Greensboro, N.C. MSU jumped on UNCG early, taking two of three doubles matches and earning the first point of the match. Michigan State would roll from there, taking four of six singles flights.

Manon Noe and Whitney Wilson set the pace for MSU in doubles, shutting out UNCG's Valerie Behr and Jess Eblen, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles. Michigan State captured the doubles point shortly after, as Lindsey Lonergan and Ana Milosavljevic downed Erica Zabkar and Britney Cloer, 8-6.

In singles play at No. 2, Noe won her 10th match of the season, taking down Arielle VonStrolley, 6-0, 6-3. Stephanie Kebler competed at the No. 3 spot for Michigan State, and now has six wins on the year, after defeating Behr, 6-1, 5-7, 6-1. At No. 4, Lonergan beat Cloer, 6-3, 6-3, while Michelle Murphy blanked Courtney Akel, 6-0, 6-0, in the sixth flight.

"I was very happy with today's performance," said MSU head coach Erica Perkins. "I didn't think we executed as well as we are capable at both 1 and 3 doubles; however, we stayed true to the game plan, stayed aggressive, and we were able to come up with the doubles point. In singles, I thought we looked very sharp. Michelle Murphy played a great match today at No. 6 singles. When she is up inside the baseline attacking, she is really tough to beat. Tomorrow, we will need to come out with the same kind of confidence and intensity against the Tar Heels."

MSU continues play tomorrow, visiting the No. 17 North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C., at 3 p.m.
