COMING UP
The Michigan State women's tennis team returns from a 12-day break as it heads to Huntington, W. Va., for a matchup with No. 55 Marshall on Saturday, March 8 at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Spartans last played on Feb. 24 when they traveled to Bristol, Tenn., for a weekend doubleheader against Charlotte and East Tennessee State. MSU looked dominating in both outings, blanking the 49ers, 7-0, and taking out the Buccaneers, 5-2.

MSU looked sharp in doubles play, losing a total of only six games, and sweeping the 49ers, 8-4, 8-2, 8-0. The Spartans looked equally impressive as they carried their play into singles action. At No. 1, Christine Bader took out Ana Spivakovsky, 7-5, 6-2. At No. 2 singles, Manon Noe picked up her eighth win in dual-match play, and now sits at 8-3 after downing Koren Fleming, 6-0, 6-2. MSU's Stephanie Kebler defeated Kimber Redfern at No. 3, 7-5, 6-4, to extend her record to 7-2 in dual-match play on the season. At No. 4, Lindsey Lonergan plowed through Yana Stoeva, 6-0, 6-0, while Ana Milosavljevic picked up her 14th singles win of the year, beating Candace Cunningham at No. 5. At six singles, Ally Wickman completed the sweep for the Spartans, taking out Gabi Vergara 6-1, 6-2.

Against East Tennessee State, MSU took the early advantage, winning two of three doubles flights, and jumping out to a 1-0 lead. In singles play, Bader had a big win for the Spartans at No. 1, downing ETSU's Yevgeniya Stupak in straight sets, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. MSU's No. 5 Milosavljevic recovered from a tough 6-1 loss in the first set, to pull out the win over Tara Sheets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. At No. 6, MSU's Wickman beat Whitney Trotter, 6-1, 6-2, while Lonergan fought off three match points to clip ETSU's Andra Voinea, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.

SCOUTING MARSHALL
The No. 55 Thundering Herd are currently 9-3 on the season, and have won five of their last six matches, but are coming off a tough 6-0 loss to No. 33 Virginia Commonwealth last Saturday. Marshall is statistically led by junior Kellie Schmitt who has the most singles wins on the team with 11, but is coming off her first loss of the season to VCU's Tatsiana Uvarova, 6-2, 6-3. Schmitt has teamed up with Karolina Soor to post a perfect 10-0 mark in doubles dual-match play, as the duo is currently ranked 16th in the nation. Sophomore Thaddea Lock has won three-straight matches at No. 5 singles and now holds a record of 6-4 in dual-match play.

ON FIRE
Lindsey Lonergan has won her last four matches in singles, and now has a mark of 8-3 in dual-match play and is 14-6 overall. Lonergan has teamed up with teammate Stepanie Kebler at No. 3 doubles the last two matches, going 2-0 and defeating their opponents by a 16-4 margin.

KEY PLAYERS
Junior Ana Milosavljevic is having an outstanding season for the Green and White, as she leads the team in singles (15) and doubles (15) wins. In dual-match play this spring, Milosavljevic has posted a mark of 7-3 in singles and 8-3 in doubles play.

SINGLES SUCCESS
The Spartans have a winning record at each of the six singles positions in dual-match play so far. MSU's best records have come from young freshmen Manon Noe (8-3) at No. 2, and Lindsey Lonergan (7-2) at No. 4.

ROAD WARRIORS
The MSU women's tennis team has a record of 4-1 on the road this spring season, and has outscored its opponents by an 18-10 mark.

BIG TEN PLAY
The Spartans have one more non-conference match scheduled against Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, March 12, before they start conference play, hosting Purdue on Saturday, March 22. Conference competition will once again be tough this year, as seven Big Ten teams are currently ranked in the top 75 in the nation.
