League-leading San Diego State holds half-game edge over BYU, UNLV and TCU

Home teams prevailed in midweek MWC men's basketball action in Week 10, posting an unblemished 4-0 mark.  On Tuesday, New Mexico played its third overtime contest in three weeks, holding off Utah for a 77-67 victory, while Air Force pushed its home win streak to five games with a 75-59 triumph over Colorado State.  On Wednesday, BYU stretched its home win streak to 41 games, knocking league-leading San Diego State from the ranks of the MWC unbeaten with a narrow 59-56 win, while UNLV beat Wyoming (78-71) for its sixth consecutive home victory.

New Mexico 77, Utah 67 (OT)
Albuquerque, N.M. Tues., Jan. 22, 2008
  • Tuesday's contest marked the third consecutive overtime meeting between New Mexico and Utah.
  • Five Lobos scored in double figures, paced by Daniel Faris' 15 points.
  • Utah's Johnnie Bryant led all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-11 field goal shooting, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range.

Air Force 75, Colorado State 59
USAFA, Colo. Tues., Jan. 22, 2008
  • Air Force's Tim Anderson scored the Falcons' first 12 points of the second half and led all scorers with 26 overall.
  • The Falcons out-rebounded the Rams by nine (31-22), their largest margin of the season.
  • Colorado State's Marcus Walker posted his fourth consecutive 20-point outing, finishing with 23.

BYU 59, San Diego State 56
Provo, Utah Wed., Jan. 23, 2008
  • BYU's Trent Plaisted recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
  • The Cougars extended the nation's second-longest home win streak to 41 games.
  • San Diego State's Lorrenzo Wade registered his third 20-point outing in MWC play this season, finishing with a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds.

UNLV 78, Wyoming 71
Las Vegas, Nev. Wed., Jan. 23, 2008
  • UNLV's Wink Adams hit four 3-pointers and 11-of-12 free throws, leading all scorers with 33 points.
  • The Runnin' Rebels have won 12 consecutive regular-season home games against MWC opponents.
  • Wyoming's Brandon Ewing went 6-of-13 from 3-point range, finishing with season-highs of 26 points and nine rebounds.
