BYU holds on to MWC lead, UNLV sits a half-game back

League-leading BYU defeated Colorado State on Wednesday to stretch its win streak to seven games in MWC men's basketball action. New Mexico, UNLV and Wyoming also picked up victories in mid-week conference tilts.

- UNLV extended its home win streak to nine games.
- The Runnin' Rebels are 12-1 all-time against Air Force at home, including a 10-1 mark vs. the Falcons at the Thomas & Mack Center.
- Including postseason competition, UNLV has won 18 straight games against MWC opponents at home, dating back to the 2005-06 season. The streak includes 15 consecutive wins against league foes in regular-season action.

- Wyoming now leads the all-time series with TCU 6-5, including a 4-0 record in games played in Laramie. The Cowboys also lead the MWC series with the Horned Frogs, 4-2.
- With tonight's win, the Cowboys have now won four of their last six games. They have also won three of their last four home
games.
- Wyoming's 18-point win marks the team's largest margin of victory in MWC play this season. Their previous largest margin of victory was a 15-point (73-58) home win over Colorado State on Jan. 26.

- BYU is off to its best MWC start in school history at 8-1. It also marks the Cougars' best start to conference play since opening with an 8-1 mark as a member of the WAC in 1994-95.
- The Cougars are riding a seven-game win streak (all against league opponents). BYU has won at least six straight MWC games in each of Dave Rose's three seasons at the helm.
- All five Cougar starters scored in double figures against the Rams, helping BYU improve to 9-1 when at least four players score in double digits and 4-0 when five players do so.

- New Mexico wins its third straight game overall and halts a five-game losing streak against San Diego State.
- The Lobos have won three consecutive conference games for the first time since a four-game run in February, 2006.
- New Mexico is 5-5 on the road this season. The Lobos were 3-19 in road contests the previous two seasons and 8-43 over a five-year span from 2003-07.
