TCU Rolls Into Semifinals, 60-47, Over Air Force Horned Frog's Ross leads all scorers with 16 points.
March 13, 2008 LAS VEGAS (AP) - Adrianne Ross scored a game-high 16 points to lead TCU over Air Force 60-47 in the Mountain West Conference tournament quarterfinal round Wednesday night. Ross, who had five steals, went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. She also had 14 first-half points. Also for Lady Frogs (21-10), Lorie Butler-Rayford had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Helen Roden added 11 points, which included 6-of-7 from the foul line. TCU, the No. 2 seed, will now play either No. 3 Wyoming or No. 6 San Diego State in the semifinal round Friday afternoon. Jamie Davis led No. 7 seeded Air Force with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field. Chasine Jones added 10 points, also on 5-of-6 shooting from the field for the Falcons. The Lady Frogs reached the foul line 27 times, converting 20, while the Falcons were 7-of-11. TCU opened up a 19-6 lead and led 36-22 at halftime. The lead never got below 12 points in the second half.
