COLUMBIA, Mo. - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced earlier this week that Cindy Fotti is this year's winner of the Rising Star Award.  Fotti, assistant director of athletics/media relations and compliance at Columbia (Mo.) College, is the first NAIA sports information director to receive this honor.

Fotti arrived at Columbia College in 2002 as a student-athlete.  She assisted in the sports information office as an undergrad and graduate student.  Fotti started working full time in 2006 as the coordinator of athletic information and compliance and was promoted to assistant director last fall.

The Rising Star Award annually goes to a college division member of CoSIDA whose work at their institution and service, dedication, energy and enthusiasm to the profession makes that person a "rising star" in the sports information field.  This award will be presented at the 51st CoSIDA Workshop in Tampa, Fla. this summer.
