SHAWNEE, Okla. -- Oklahoma Baptist University took a pair of games from Texas College Tuesday (April 22), sweeping the Steers 16-5 and 7-1.

Derek Edwards picked up the win in the opener, retiring the first nine hitters in order before surrendering the shutout in the fourth.

OBU jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Josh Collazo took sole possession of the Bison single season home run record with a three-run blast - his 19th.

The Bison also got an RBI ground out by Whitt Barkley and a two-run single from Cody Lambeth.

Collazo then became the first Bison to clout 20 home runs in a season with a solo shot in the second. Christian Ruiz homered with none on in the third for an 8-0 lead. Collazo currently (as of April 30) stands with 21 homers and 97 RBI.

Texas College scored all five of its runs in the fourth to close to within 8-5, but the Bison erupted for three in the bottom of the inning on a three-run bomb by Mason Reilly.

Reilly repeated the feat in the bottom of the fifth after a two-run single by Collazo, capping a five-run, game-ending fifth inning.

Collazo and Reilly had three hits each, while Billy Thomas and Kyle Cooper produced two apiece to spearhead OBU's 14-hit attack.

Andrew Dickison tossed a strong second game, giving up just one run on two hits over seven innings.

The Bison broke a scoreless tie in the third with an RBI single by Collazo and a sacrifice fly by Frank Avilla.

Cooper doubled home a run in the fourth to up the lead to 3-0.

The Steers cut it to 3-1 in the fifth on the second home run of the day by Erran Blackmon.

OBU countered in the bottom of the fifth with two runs on an RBI single by Avilla and a sacrifice fly by Keith Johnson. Reilly added a two-run single in the sixth for the final margin.

Reilly, Cooper and Collazo had two hits each among OBU's nine for the game.
